I truly cannot see why people like farming. But for those who do it only for getting money to buy things, then fine, those that farm things just to have money. I gotta say get a life. Spending your life to get money in a game, that is sad, not farming in general.

I might farm like once a week, but I'd rather play the game then farm, a lot less boring. Even though my primary is an Assassin, I've only used the permaform build once. Although since I'm thinking of getting FoW for my Necromancer and Ritualist, I might start farming. Although I'm sure I'll poke my eyes out with a fork before I get enough Ectos.

People with no responsibilities, friends, or hobbies. It gives them something to do, they get neat digital graphics in return, and they can boast about it to like-minded individuals. If it weren't for people like that, we probably wouldn't even have MMOs.

Next question?

Actually, answer mine first: why do you care? So, what? They'd probably be doing something equally mundane with their time if they didn't have Guild Wars. What difference does it make if they're clicking mouse buttons and tapping number keys for hours on end or sitting in their bedroom reading comic books?

Farming can be fun for a while, put after a few months you get bored with it. I haven't farmed in over a year (not counting soloing raptors during event weekends for golden eggs/booze).

First i agree with you

2nd i dnt care i just think its stupid and am asking and anyways if i ever want FoW armor ectos are so cheap now its a good thing for me. A/E is hardly a reason to complain and 'I' am not.

farming is one of the most boring things to do in gw, next to title grinding, i personally farmed maybe 50 or so ectos in say 2-3 weeks and i stopped farming now. also remeber this is a constant cycle, ectos go down in price- stuff require more ectos-ppl farm more ectos to get that item- the item rise in cost due to ectos going down and again and again

Some people find comfort in repetitive, familiar tasks that reward them at some level. I don't have the patience :|

I farmed my butt off because I've been paranoid about the nerf bat coming. I thought that I'd regret it if I didn't get as much in as I could before it got nerfed. Now, a month later... I haven't loaded my sin up in nearly a week! Blergh.. boring.

I find attitudes like this so frustrating! I'm a mum, with a 4 year old son, a husband, I grow my own veges, I am studying a bachelor degree at home, I have an active and busy "life" if that's what you believe in your narrow viewpoint of the word. Instead of judging people who you don't know, how about you go expand your "active social life" and meet people in different situations then yourself.

I find farming fun. Just mix up the spots you run so you don't get burnt out. Nothing at all wrong with it.

I did it for like a week, now I can't even bother thinking about doing it, it's too boring. Course that's how it is with everything PvE right now.

^this. thing is, while I farm, I'm usually doing other stuff I'd be idle while doing anyway, like watching TV, listening to music talking over GC/AC, and as I see it I got in on a lot of other farming trends late and I'm gettin now while the gettin's good.

well umm how else you going to get that full hall its a little expensive
and yes i actually like to farm and no i am not a freak and yes i have a life

and if you think its boring then why not use diferent skills or different modds on your weapons or armor that will make it less boring cuz making a new build that is already established is hard to do. OH look a new concept if you are that good then "challege" yourself.

PS:100 Ectos in 3 weeks is not bad luck, I have only done 15 runs over the time period.
and about this post of 15 runs being 100e all i have to say is hehehe you make me giggle. thats 6.6e a run hardly ever happens more like 2-4 a run with the spike of 6-7 every once and a while. so if you get a run with 4 then your next run better drop 12 lol again thanks for the giggle.

why are there so many lairs on this forum. oh wow look at you big shot you can make up a story. <rolls eyes>

All farming is grind. Some people just like to do it. A/E is boring as hell, but the return for the time spent is just really good. When that gets nerfed, there will be people with stacks of ecto who will be glad they endured the drudgery.
